Earth makes revolution around the Sun and Moon of Earth’s. Sometimes a portion of the Earth is engulfed in a shadow cast by the Moon which fully or partially blocks the sunlight.

Actually during eclipse Sun will be on tropic of cancer and this will be the centuries second solar eclipse on tropic of cancer.
